Would Leonardo da Vinci have just snapped a quick photo of
the Mona Lisa instead of going for the brush or by some theories (that it was
in fact da Vinci’s self-portrait as a woman) reverse the camera and take a selfie
and use an app to put some long hair and a dress on. Who knows?

What I do know
is that it is a wonderful outlet for me
and safer than those power tools I enjoy using around the house. So as a
tribute, I have recreated these works of art to look like the paintings of the
artists despite shaking hands. If I can do it fellow parkies, so can you. Don’t
let this disease kill your creativity. Use the tools at your disposal, find
that outlet, and claim that personal victory.
I am Pat Younts and I move to live.

ReplyDeleteThank you as always!
DeleteWonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteArt has done many things for me through my illness. Calm, peace, meditation, pain relief... and it's given me a sense of self aside from my disease.
I think doctors need to write prescriptions for art. And insurance companies should pay for art supplies :)
Sherri, Thank you for taking the time to comment. I am glad that art has given you that escape that it also gives me. It would be wonderful if doctors and insurance companies would do that.
DeleteI would love to see some of your art. Be well, and thank you again.
